Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 4 green onions sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp chili oil adjust to taste
  • 12-16 dumplings frozen or fresh
  • 2 cups bok choy or spinach
  • Garnishes: cilantro sesame seeds, lime wedges

Instructions

  • Heat sesame oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic, ginger, and white parts of green onions for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add broth, soy sauce, and chili oil. Bring to a simmer.
  • Add dumplings and cook per package instructions (4-5 minutes).
  • Add bok choy in the last 2 minutes to wilt.
  • Ladle into bowls and garnish with green onions, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Serve with lime.

Notes

  • Spice Control: Start with 1 tbsp chili oil and add more after tasting.
  • Dumpling Swap: Use gyoza, wontons, or even tortellini in a pinch.
  • Veggie Boost: Add mushrooms, carrots, or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
