Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs extra lean ground turkey
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 garlic cloves pressed
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce any flavor
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion diced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together ground turkey, egg, pressed garlic, barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs, and diced onion until well combined.
  • Spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Add meatloaf mixture to prepared pan and flatten down slightly so that it's spread evenly.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush additional barbecue sauce on top during the last 10 minutes of cooking
Ground chicken can be substituted for turkey in equal amounts
Panko breadcrumbs work especially well for a lighter texture
