Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb 450g ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 3 green onions finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

For the Wrappers:

  • 30-40 gyoza wrappers
  • Water for sealing

For Cooking:

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water for steaming

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp chili oil optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  • Assemble the Gyoza: Place a wrapper on a clean surface, add 1 tsp of filling, moisten the edges, fold, and pleat to seal. Repeat.
  • Cook the Gyoza: Heat oil in a skillet. Cook gyoza until bottoms are golden. Add water, cover, and steam for 5-6 minutes. Uncover and cook for 1-2 minutes to crisp.
  • Serve: Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Assemble gyoza ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • Freezing: Freeze uncooked gyoza on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag. Cook from frozen.
  • Customization: Add shredded cabbage or carrots to the filling for extra texture and flavor.
